I’ll be at Designer Con again this year in booth #301 with Jeremiah Ketner and N.C. Winters. I hope you can make it out if you are in the area. If not, I do plan to put all remaining available pieces up in my shop a few days after the convention closes. Here is a list of my art that will be available in the booth: Designer Con Art. There are still a few more small one’s that I will be adding. I’ll have some new original art and a few prints available coming to my web shop this Friday, September 20th at 1pm Central time. The show title is Spiral Lights. Here is a bit of my thoughts behind the group of paintings I’ve done for this show: When I moved into painting full time back in 2007 I was exploring a variety of subjects and elements, including everyday objects and creatures that we may all recognize. A few years in I started to devote my attention to one story about how plant-life on Earth begins to change other living organisms in order to create a balance. I started to use a reoccurring masked figure to symbolize these new organism that were causing the changes. It’s been a few years that I’ve been focused on it and decided that my last exhibition at Rotofugi (The Bone Banquet) was the end of that story. I am now beginning to look back into ideas that I had in mind when I first jumped in, yet utilizing all the elements I’ve developed along the way. It’s been a little bit of a struggle to step away from that story, but as I work on paintings for this online show I remember the things I used to cover and I introduce other things that I enjoy. Not only am I looking into a shift in imagery, but also the mood. I’ve portrayed quite a dark mood in many of my past works using a lot of black. I am looking to lighten the mood, my own mood to be more precise, gravitating toward white and brighter colors. Though, as I said, it is a little bit of a struggle seeing that a few of these new ones are heavy in black. I can’t say that looking at my art from the outside will change much. I just feel like it’s time for me to change the subject. I am not at all trying to diminish all that I did while working on this one story over these past few years. It has helped me grow and develop. I hope to collect it all in a manner that makes sense and publish them all in some fashion at a point. I appreciate all those that have supported my continual exploration as an artist. My hope is to continue to grow and keep on exploring!

I have created a new 6.5″ tall figure called “Trioko” which will be available at the booth. Dragatomi will have a run of 10, each hand painted with a fern/red oxide color way with a set of glass eyes and a pair of wings.
The guys at Dragatomi also asked me to customize a Hunted Dunny which will also be available.
